F A W Z I A M A H M O O D
I’m a producer of film, TV and moving image from, living and working in London.
My work has screened at festivals, for broadcast, in galleries, educational institutions and community spaces.
I cut my teeth working for producers on their busy slates, including projects by Lenny Abrahamson, Icíar Bollaín, Mike Leigh, Idris Elba, Stanley Tucci, and Michael Haneke, as well as script editing and consulting for companies like DJ Films and FilmWave.
I work closely with writers, directors, and production partners at all stages and across genres, platforms, budget levels and borders.
Publicly funded projects that I’ve worked on as a producer, editorially or both, and are releasing in 2025/26, include: an upcoming feature documentary, a short fiction film, a TV drama series, and a fiction feature.
I’m an alum of Rotterdam Lab, Berlinale Talents, Locarno Match Me, Edinburgh Film Festival Talent Lab and a Sheffield Doc/Fest Future Producer.
I’m a member of BAFTA, Producers’ Alliance for Cinema and Television UK and a voter for the British Independent Film Awards.
I have taught film and media practice and production at UCL, London Film School and for Whitechapel Gallery’s education programme.
I received an MA in Producing (National Film and Television School UK), a BA in Economics (Brown University) and an MPhil in South Asian Studies (University of Cambridge), for which I focused on colonial history, visual anthropology and cinema.
I’m most excited about working with storytellers, artists, movement builders and social researchers who have spirit, tenacity and vision, who want to push the envelope, and an interest in how we can imagineer another world into being.
